how to fix the PDU in the cabinets ?

Schleifenbauer PDUs are suitable for installation in any 19" cabinet. Practically every manufacturer of server cabinets has its own specific possibilities for installation. For correct installation it is important that the PDU is firmly mounted and takes up as little space as possible. We have a number of different possibilities for installing PDUs in cabinets. An overview of these can be found on this page.

19" rack-mounted brackets

These brackets are used for installing the 19" styles in a cabinet. The holes are positioned such that the PDU, with a profile height of 1.5 HE, always has a hole that fits. Due to this, the PDU can be placed tightly above or below the item without losing space. Two profiles under each other take up exactly 3 HE.

Table mounting

The table-mounting brackets are in fact upside down 19" brackets. The profile can thereby be mounted on a flat surface (table). This is used for, among other things:

  • vertical mounting on the reinforcing beams in the 19" cabinet
  • on a mounting plate
  • between the 19" rails, where the profile is on the front of the rails
The holes are as far as possible towards the outside, so that you can also attach the bolts if a swivel is placed on the short side.

Sunken installation

With these plates on the short side of the profile, you are also able to mount the profile 'sunken' into the cabinet. In this way, you can save valuable space. This is particularly applicable in cabinets that are 60 cm wide, where the build-in depth of the PDU is crucial because the connecting cables could block the hot exhaust air and thereby create a 'hot spot' in the cabinet. These mounting lugs are used a great deal with Minkels and Rittal cabinets.

Profile clamps

The clamps, made from spring steel, can be fitted in any random position. You fasten the clamp to the profile with a fastening bolt so that it is firmly attached. To guarantee sufficient solidity, you should use one clamp for every 50 cm of profile. The clamp fits tightly against the profile, so that no space is wasted in the cabinet. Note: for correct attachment with profile clamps, it is important that the clamps are fitted with their backs against a rear wall. If there is only ‘support' for the clamp up to the height of the fastening bolt, we advise first mounting a plate, to which the clamp is subsequently attached. For this there is an optional reinforcement plate available, as shown on the middle photo, or you can use the attachment plate for Rittal cabinets.

Attachment plate for Rittal cabinets

This attachment plate is a standard accessory in the Rittal catalogue. This attachment plate is used if there is no place in the cabinet where the PDU can be mounted. This plate offers the possibility to nevertheless install PDUs in a proper manner, either with table-mounting brackets or profile clamps.

Toolless Mounts

"Toolless Mounts' are fixing points at the rear side of the profile with which the PDU, without use of tools can be hung in the cabinet. The cabinet must then be provided with special mounting holes for this suspension. Alternatively, we can also supply brackets with prepared mounting holes.

Customer-specific solutions

Because there are countless different ways to mount PDUs in cabinets, Schleifenbauer always offers the possibility to develop customer-specific solutions in collaboration with the client.
